Hi just ordered a 9300 off of Ebay and wasnt positive about one thing. The seller stated that it is an 17 inch UltraSharp Wide Screen XGA+ Display which is 1440*900 I think. I wasnt sure so I emailed the seller and asked if it was a true life screen which now I know it cant be since True Life = 1920*1200. Corrrect? I wanted the lower resolution since my eyes cant handle the higher 1920*1200 resolution but I did want the glossy dark black screen. After he said it was I then emailed him back to ask is this the dark glassy looking screen he said yes it is. So question is. Does 1440*900 even come in the glossy look? From what I have looked up this does not seem to be possible. So either I am getting a 1440*900 matte screen or a 1920*1200 glossy screen. Correct?

    Thanks
    Joseph

You are correct. You can get the glossy coating put on aftermarket, but it doesn't get the increased brightness etc.

So no, the 1440x900 screen is only offered in matte finish. The 1920x1200 is glossy. So the only way the 1440x900 is glossy is it was done aftermarket.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks, I suspected that but its good to have someone who knows confirm it. So will just have to see what I have when it arrives. I think I can live with the non glossy but cant handle the higher rez.

    Thanks
