I had reinstalled Windows XP Media Center a few days ago, and the only thing that's noticeably different than before is a green volume meter that shows up every time I press the external volume controls. I had to format the computer because it was having a slew of problems, including Windows [mis]handling my temporary files by putting necessary drivers into disk cleanup as safe for removal, as well as chkdisk randomly rewriting parameters and security vectors. Anyways, with that aside, I was just wondering if anyone has any idea on how to remove the green volume bar, as it is fairly annoying. I tried looking for the solution already, but I couldn't find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
BTW: Here's a pic of the aforementioned green volume meter:

you need Quickset installed and running
EDIT: sorry, i thought you wanted it. if you dont want it, either...
1. remove quickset
2. turn off quickset from systray
3. turn off volume meter in quickset -
Which volume bar? Are you talking about the top one which is quickset?

sorry, i thought you were talking about the quickset meter.
i don't know about the green one. -
the bottom one is the MCE one. There should be a setting in MCE for it. You might check your sound properties in the control panel. I haven't worked with MCE, so I'm not sure where the setting would be at.
