I'm hearing a lot of people saying that they are getting huge discounts from Dell and buying their Inspiron 9300 for around $1300-$1500. I'm not sure how this is possible. I decided to go with the 4-yr extended Warranty and CompleteCare plan which pumped my price through the roof! Then, I applied the $750 coupon and the bottomline ended up around $2100.00. Here are my base specs:

    CPU: 1.6 GHZ (730 M)
    RAM: 1 GB
    VIDEO: 128 MB
    DISPLAY: 17" UXGA TrueLife
    HD: 60 GB (7200 rpm)
    WIRELESS: a/b/g
    WARRANTY: 4-year
    COMPLETE CARE: 4-year

They REALLY get you with the Warranty and CompleteCare. Did I do the wrong thing by getting these?

I can't help thinking that I got ripped off somehow with all these people saying these low numbers. Maybe they didn't buy the warranty/completecare ? Let me know your thoughts, thanks.

    i mite get the 2 yr. warranty 4 the 9300...not 2 sure tho...cuz i have a warranty on my HP desktop 4 5 years..and i think that it's a ripoff since there's nothing rong wit it yet...and it's 2 years old..mayb 2 years and like 2 months...and it's already outdated!!!...im soo mad...so i wouldn't suggest 4 years..but it's your own opinion..unless u know that u r gonna damage it soon[ ;)]

I agree 4 years is two long if something is going to go out more than likely it will happen in the first year-year 1/2.

I went with 2 years plus acc. protection just to be safe.

    hope this helped...

After reading that warranty article I think that purchasing Dell's CompleteCare plan is complete crap. You can get a personal articles insurance policy on your notebook for around $35 a year AND it will cover everything the Dell plan covers plus more like it being stolen.

Since I am purchasing a Dell (famous for faulty everything) the 4-year extended warranty does not bother me at all. I plan on keeping this notebook for 4+ years if I can. I have a desktop that I use parellel to this notebook and that's the computer I baby. With all the breaks and horror stories you read about Dell, in about two incidents that extended warranty will have paid for itself. I'm not willing to take the chance my screen or motherboard goes bad and I get passed a $500 bill from Dell for repair.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm assuming my bottom line was bloated because most people don't buy the 4-year extended warranty. Thanks again.

I bought the 1 yr economy plan for my 6000. Dont forget your credit card has 1 yr for you too.
