    Hello all first post.

My Inspiron 9300 is having problems connecting to the adapter. It will only charge if I make the connection tight or at an angle. The plug itself is very wiggly when I plug it in, but the piece on the laptop itself isn't.

    I know it's not the AC adapter/charger because I bought a replacement and it's still a problem.

    What's going on?

    Thanks.

It sounds like the motherboard's soldered connection for the power jack is going bad. I think the only way to fix it is to send it in to Dell or have a tech go you your home to replace the motherboard.

    Rats.

This is the 2nd laptop I've had this problem with; last was the Inspiron 1000.
