Hey all, Ive been recently suffering from high temperatures in my GPU...it reaches up to 95 degrees celcius if Im playing a game, which results in slowdown and significant decreas in FPS. This never used to happen before, and used to reach a maximum of around 75 while playing games...Ive tried changing drivers and even reformatting, but nothing helps. I have also turned off any over-clocking as well. So Ive come to the conclusion that my fans must be clogged with alot of dust. So my question is: how do I open my laptop (Dell Inspiron 9400) and clean out the dust?
For now my temporary solution was to download I8KFanGUI and keep the fans on high at all times...resulting in an idle GPU temp of around 65 celcius, and around 80 under heavy load. However when I turn off the program, my fans never seem to turn on by themselves (even though they used to) and my GPU reaches up to 95 degrees celcius while idle! Any help would be great...thanks![]()

If you don't have the user manual you can download it at dell.com,it has just what you need to take the notebook apart. If your using I8Fan make sure your settings are on automatic temp control. When gaming set your fans to go off at the temps you feel is to high. When you force fans to high make sure to reset them to auto and switch between gaming settings and normal, you'll have to set each setting by clicking options.

You can find the manual at support.dell.com . If you are using your laptop on a desk, I would recommend getting a cooler that will help cut down the heat. If nothing else, get a desk fan and place it behind your laptop so it will blow air near the fans.

alright then, thanks for the help

You should also get a can of compressed air.
