    Hi,

Im looking to do a reinstall of Vista on my inspiron laptop. I dont have the OEM disc as I have lost it. I have been told that Dell laptops have a hidden partition to do a factory re install of the OS. Can anyone help me with this procedure?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers
    Rob

Not all Dells have this installation partition; it depends on where you bought it from. I myself bought it direct from Dell and I did not have the recovery partition. I however make sure I always keep all discs. Unforutunately, this means I still have an Office 97 CD ROM......which I believe was my first CD ROM. I also had it on floppy disk, but after re-installing 31 floppy disks 5 or 6 times, you do end up getting tired and just buy the CD ROM.....
