    Delay times for the Inspiron lids have change once again, with new delays on the following colors:

    Inspiron 1420:

    - Jet Black: 2 days :(
    - Expresso ( sic) Brown : 2 days
    - Spring Green: 13 days :mad:
    - Flamingo Pink: 13 days :mad:
    - Sunshine Yellow: 2 days

    Inspiron 1520:

    - Expresso Brown: 5 days
    - Ruby Red: 16 days :eek:
    - Midnight Blue: 9 days
    - Spring Green: 15 days :eek:
    - Flamingo Pink: 16 days :eek:
    - Sunshine Yellow: 6 days

    danngg. hmm supposedly mine is to be shipped today but i just called the number and it still says build stage. yet i talked to a chat person last night and they said there is no reason why my order should be delayed. what do you think? do i still have time before the day is through?

    There is no delay on the 1420 for ruby red - does this mean that all orders that were placed for ruby red before today are all on schedule? or just if you order it from this point on? I'm not sure if there ever was a delay for the ruby red lids, but I'm going on day 10 of being in the build stage, just wondering.

    I find this absolutely ridiculous. I feel as if I were played and falsely advertised. I ordered the black on the 1420 for one reason and one reason only, the fact that it had NO delays when I ordered some weeks ago and that every other color had massive delays. Now I see people getting their colored ones before me (blue was my first choice, no longer a delay...) and I am thorougly pissed at Dell. At this point in time, all I want is my laptop and really don't think I'll ever buy from Dell again. Not to mention the fact that I'm forever stuck in the build/preproduction stages.

    Not sure I understand.. hopefuly one of you guys can clarify. I ordered my 1520 on 7/19. On Tuesday I got a call and the rep said it'd be delayed until 8/28!

    What does the 5 days expresso brown delay posted mean? Is there hope I'll get it before the 28th or is it 5 more days after the 28?

    You inspiron people are all getting royaly F-ED. I feel so bad for you guys, as CSR people talk you into changing your order colour to jet black, or another undelayed one, then having it become delayed due to the increase in orders. Thats ridiculous! I would be PISSED. Good luck with your notebooks, seriously.

    I've hardly seen anything about delays for the 1720/1721, and there's barely delays for black, either. So since I ordered a black 1721, hopefully I'm going to get lucky!

    btw pré production is same as production. My order status pages tells me pre-prd while a csr person told me it was into production since july 5. But how can something be in production when parts are missing...

    There was a delay on Ruby Red lids all the while. Mine was supposed to be shipped on 10-Aug. It got delayed by a week and when I speak to customer care they tell me that its because the ruby red lid is out of stock that my laptop is still in Build stage. When I show them that the Dell website doesnt offer any delay for the Ruby red laptops being ordered now, they told me that they still havent received the part and after they get it they will process it depending on the order in which the laptops were booked.

    Hey...mine was supposed to be shipped yesterday too. Ruby Red was causing the delay till now but they have just got the stock. It is still not in Nashville (I guess...this is where the assemble the laptop) so they still havent started putting it together with our laptops...it might take another week...depending on when u ordered...when did u order?

    1720 is definitely suffers the most delay
    i mean, most people whose computers have entered post-build stage usually have 1420 or 1520

    1720 and 1721. I haven't seen any red 1721's go out. Ordered mine 7/23, still waiting to get past the pre processing stage. esd 8/6, then 8/28.

    seen one or two blue 1720/1721s out, but I'm still in the wait-and-see boat too. worse yet because since I ordered through Costco it's damn near impossible to get anybody who knows what the flock is going on, even more so than the regular orders. I don't even HAVE a new ESD now, just a "you're delayed again, we'll get back to you..."

    Not cancelling because I can't get the specs for the $ anywhere else, even from Dell at this point, but it'd better be perfect out of the box and the best 'puter I've ever had or it'll be a cold day in Hades before I order from Dell again.
