    Hi,
I have a problem with my Inspiron E1505. My screen flickers from time to time. It occurs mainly when I try to display pictures on website, but it occurs with no pictures too. It comes and goes in a blink, just a second. Happens every 3-4 minutes. I was talking to a dell technician and he suggested me to check this in a BIOS but there is no problem in a bios (setup). I think it is video card or LCD problem.

I tried to use other nvidia drivers, reloaded windows, java, flash player etc. No answer.

Does anyone have the same problem?

I recognized that when I go here www.livescore.com 2 black parts of the screen flickers. This is not the same flickering as I described upper but I have IBM laptop too and there is no problem on IBM. Can other Inspiron user with my configuration check this website (it is safe, don't worry)?

    This is my configuration:

    Inspiron E1505
    Intel Core 2 Duo processor T7200 (4MB/2.00GHz/667MHz)
    15.4 Inch UltraSharp TrueLife Wide-screen WSXGA+
    1GB, DDR2, 533MHz 2 Dimm
    256MB NVIDIA GeForce GO 7300
Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
    Bios A09

    Thank you
    Regards
    Maciej

Have you tried reflashing your BIOS? Where did you get the nVidia drivers?

One possibility is that the LCD plug might be loose, so you might check and make sure that it is connected properly. Has it always done this?

Thank you for quick answer :)

Yes I have reflashed my BIOS to A09. I am using video drivers from the dell website but I tried also other modified drivers from websites like this http://laptopvideo2go.com but no positive results.

I bought this laptop about 2 months ago, should I send it back to dell? I don't know (and I am affraid about my warranty) how to chceck the LCD plug.

Have you reformatted your laptop recently? I'm not 100% sure if it is a driver/software problem or hardware.

What kind of warranty do you have?

I have the same problem with my laptop. It has been happening for a little while now. Could it have anything to do with the recalls on the batteries? I know I had to send my battery back. I haven't called Dell because I'm hesitant about not having my laptop with my up at school. I am a college student and my life (in terms of papers etc) is on this computer. I've just been dealing with it.

Mine blinks but it doesn't go black all the time. It switches power sources from battery to the outlet. The screen will get dim, then lighter again.

I don't know what to do.

I have the exact same problem with my labtop. It starting messing up about 2 months after I purchased it. The screen will go on and off. Sometimes my screen wont come on at all.

    Ive tried reflashing your BIOS
Ive tried updating all the drivers.
I didnt change ANY software when it started messing up.
I wasnt doing anything that required my laptop to work very hard .
It just pooof! screen started going on and off.
It can be fine for a day or two , then messs up again.

    Im also getting Graphical glitches.
Ive tried connecting my laptop to an external monitor when the screen goes on and off.... .guess what, the external monitor ALSO goes on and off.... its not a problem with the screen itself.

Ive sent my laptop back to Dell. I just got it back yesterday and they changed the processor..... cause they didnt find anything and deceided to randomly replace a part.

I would really like to know if anyone more people have been having these problems and if they actually found out the right reason for the malfunction.

I get a "graphical glitch" every 10 min or so on mine. Truelife wsxga+ display and ati x1400, it just "flickers", and not the dimming on battery switch type, its literally what looks like a loss of sync on a crt monitor. I;ve dealt with it because its rare, but I almost wonder if its a driver issue.
