I've recently purchased a Dell:Inspiron E1505, and haved a problem with adjusting the contrast of screen. I've tried the button <Fn> + <Arrow up and Arrow down>. However, it only adjusts the brightness w/o contrast. So I ended get the image that's very bright without the depth. I worked a lot with graphic and 3 d model, so this problem really annoyed me. I've tried contact Dell support, and they told me that there's no function for adjusting the contrast in this model.

Has anyone know how to fix this?

I believe you need to adjust the gamma. If you have photoshop, use adobe gamma...otherwise powerstrip may work.

I don't think Gamma adjustment can change the screen's contrast. If the screen looks bad due to different brand 's quality, you might want to call dell and ask for another screen.

I don't know which screen brand in E1505 has the highest quality in producing color and contrast. i only know E1705 LG screen is the best (of E1705 line) out there.

The program comes with a tool called "adobe gamma". It lets you adjust the screen.

If you are within the 15 day window, have a different screen put it and see if you like it better. They can be hit and miss.

Thanks a lot! With some reason, I don't have Adobe Gamma but I probably could find it soon. I have used it to adjust the screeen on my old desktop. So I think that will do the job. I just wasn't thinking about it. Thanks a lot!
