I'll try to be as precise as I can, but excuse me if I forget anything.
I'm restarting my computer, as my graphics started getting wonky playing the new Quake Live, it's happened before, then things return to normal after a reboot. But it affects all my windows GUI, makings images half faded I guess is a way to describe it. Also installed the newest divx drivers on my machine.
I have an Inspiron E1505 with the Dell RAM and an Mobility Radeon X1400 video card.
It goes fine turning off, but after rebooting, the LCD displays nothing. Not a flicker, nothing. I can use the video out to another monitor, but the graphics still look off like before. Just to note, since then everything I've done has to be done with video out, the LCD still does not work.
So now I can boot again, and now when it starts up I get the following BSOD:
"NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error" and try to reboot again.
I've run the diagnostic, and the LCD Connection Test fails with error code 2000-0321.
I can reboot fine into safe mode, no BSOD, and I'm using that to back up all my data right now. Earlier I uninstalled my video drivers, and I believe the regular boot functioned okay, at VGA resolution but no BSOD.
I'm going to try another set of drivers, but I have a nagging fear it's a hardware error and will then work to get Dell's help with that, but any other ideas are welcome.

The LCD on the E1505 is connected by a small connector to the motherboard.
If you have a small flathead screwdriver, use that to pry off the small plastic bezel which is located between your keyboard and the LCD. It has the power button on it. (You need to fold the LCD back 180 degrees to remove the plastic bezel properly)
Once removed, you will need to remove the two screws which hold the keyboard down. The LCD ribbon connector is located by the print screen button on the keyboard. Make sure that the connector is connected all of the way. Once that is checked, let us know if the problem still occurs.
If the problem continues, than the problem is coming from the LCD. That being said, it could be a dead screen inverter, or a dead LCD.
You can test this very easily.
Remove the 6 rubber circular dots around the Lid. Once removed you will see small screws underneath them. Once those 6 screws are removed you will be able to separate the two halves of the screen.
You should look for the screen inverter underneath your LCD. It is literally right behind the DELL name on the front plastic bezel, (the one you see when you open the Lid)
You should unplug the wires connected on the right of the inverter. You should grab a voltmeter. Their should be around 1200V AC coming out of the inverter. If you are getting no voltage out of the inverter, than the inverter is fried. You should buy a replacement inverter if this is the problem. They should be pretty cheap, maybe around $30 or so
If the inverter works, and the problem still exists, you should check the LCD ribbon cable connectors on the back of the LCD. To do this you need to get to the back of the LCD. You will have to remove another 10-12 screws to get to the back of the LCD. The ribbon cable you are looking for is about 1" wide and about 1mm thick. Simply unplug it from the back of the LCD. Than reconnect the cable. When the cable is connected properly, use some electrical tape to hold the cable in place, so it does not come disconnected again.
Than put the system back together and test everything out.
Hopefully it is a connectivity or an inverter problem because those are very cheap and easy to diagnose/fix
Good luck,
