I am having some issues with my ethernet port. I need to reload some wireless software, and in order to do that, I need my ethernet port. Well, it's as though the computer does not know the ethernet port exists. I have tried using my service tag, and downloading all "network" drivers from Dell's website. I still cannot get it to work. My computer gave me a prompt that there was new hardware to install, being the ethernet controller. I figured I was home free, but I was not. When I tried to install the software, I got a message saying "the hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software." I am at my wits end with this. Does anyone have any solutions, or know the specific driver that is for the ethernet controller? Again, I have downloaded all of the drivers from Dell's website. I have also sometimes received the error code "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)." Any help will be appreciated!

Have you checked your BIOS setting to see if the Ethernet port is "Enabled"
