While its plugged in, go into the control panel and check out your battery settings. It could just be running on AC power when you have it plugged in and not be charging the actual battery. Check that and the other power options in Control Panel.

If I use a Dell 1525 laptop for an extended amount of time wirelessly and connected to A.C. power should I remove the computer's battery while I'm using the computer on A.C. power for several hours during the day or is it safe to leave the battery installed in the computer?

I ask this because a tech with Dell in India told me to remove the battery while using the computer for extended periods of time connected to A.C. power and when I was done to reinstall the battery. Does that make sense or not? Is it OK to leave the battery installed while using A.C. power?
