A few days ago my laptop's screen started going black whenever I would come back to it after a few hours of it being asleep. At first it wasn't anything bad, but the problem has gotten worse. This morning it wouldn't stay on at all.

I opened it up and everything (warranty was already expired) but I didn't know what to do once I got there. So I put everything back together and it starts up fine and everything, but the problem persists.

Something that I noticed before even opening it up was that when it shuts down there is a high pitched buzzing noise just before. So, something is wrong.

Anyone know of anything I can do?

Oh, and just to clarify, the computer doesn't shut down, it's just the screen.

Sounds like your mobo going bad nd on its last legs. If you have an external monitor, you can test that theory out. Are you running on battery or plugged in?
