I have an Inspiron E1505 in which the sound just mysteriously stopped working a few weeks ago. All I am hearing now is a system beep any time an audio event is supposed to occur. According to the device mgr, the Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio is corrupt. I have attempted to uninstall and reinstall this driver at least eight times already w.o success.

I even caved in and called Dell, and after two hours on the phonen, the rep could not figure it out either.

There is no system rollback point, so that is not an option. I ran diagnostics through BIOS, and the card returned errors. Does it have to be replaced, or can someone point me to a software fix??
