    Hi
I ordered, from EBAY a new battery for my laptop. It is installed and has charged to 99%.

Someone suggested to let it drain 2 times. Every time I unplug my computer to run on battery power, it lasts a few minutes...dropping to 84% this last time and dies!. Computer goes off.

I have changed my settings to "never" shut down while on battery power.

I checked the Sony battery and it seems to be fine, but it can't hold any power while it is working on its own---even though it says it still is over 80% charged.

The main reason I bought a battery is so I can use this laptop without having an electrical outlet. I am no better off right now ;-(

    Please advise. Thanks, Linda

Lots of third party e-bay batteries are poor quality and just don't hold a charge.
The only thing you can really do is contact the seller and try to get an RMA or a refund.
I'm willing to bet the new battery is a lot lighter than the old one as well?
