I just ordered a Mini 9. It was $229 and I couldn't resist. Only thing is, it has Ubuntu. I haven't a clue how to run Ubuntu. It was suggested to wipe the SSD drive and re-install Ubuntu fresh and get rid of the crapware. I checked Dells, driver and download page and all the drivers are for Windows XP. Nothing is listed for Ubuntu.
So how would I go about installing chipset drivers in Ubuntu along with the Wifi and other drivers? Can I use the XP drivers?
That doesn't sound right.

You might want to take a look at this: http://mydellmini.com/forum/drivers-for-dell-inspiron-mini-9-910--t2827.html
It is a whole thread devoted to drivers for the Mini 9. I don't use Ubuntu but the first post states that Ubuntu drivers are built-in to the kernel.
Hope this helps. -
Here is a guide, thanks to atbnet if you wanted to install via USB Flash drive:

Its at the beginning of this thread here on the forum:

Edit: it may be the same as the one MrNYC linked to the mydellminiforum..not sure..but that's a helpful forum, either way!!

I've found the ubuntu to work pretty nicely.
It doesn't play youtube as well as a XP mini, but it does get about an hour better battery life.
