    Hi all
Been looking around but can't find a definitive answer - the N5040 uses the same keyboard (04341X) as the L502x. My interest is getting the backlit L502x keyboard (0N76J4) and fitting it to my N5040. Can anyone help on the success I may or may not have with this regarding the backlighting?
    TIA

The N5040 should have it's own backlit keyboard, but it looks like the L502x keyboard should work as well. Just make sure you have the additional connector on the motherboard for the backlighting cable; since the N5040 is a pretty budget machine, I wouldn't be that surprised if Dell didn't include a connector on non-backlit configurations.

Well I've detached my keyboard and the only visible connectors are the main keyboard one and a small one for the touchpad. I'm taking a guess it would be accessible if it was there?
