Which one of these used laptops should I go for? I currently have an E5500 (the one in my sig) and will be upgrading later this year.

The N5110 is a bit more expensive, can't tell if I prefer it or not. A bit tempted by the N7110 too.

CPU specs etc are irrelevant because I'll be upgrading it to whatever I can find for my budget. So more screen quality/aesthetics/general feel.

Also, are either of them upgradeable to higher res screens or not?

I can't really find a comparison between them, or any useful on the N5050.

    Thankyou!

EDIT: Also if anyone knows any other good 2nd gen sandy models that would be nice. I know I also need to avoid the AMD-based lines due to the defects (plus a lot of them are poor value for money anyway)

They're both practically the same thing save for minor differences like the switchable lid on the N5110. I don't think either of them shipped with anything better than an HD screen, so upgrading to HD+ or FHD may not be possible. I don't think the AMD models are of sufficiently poorer quality either; everything should basically be based off the same chassis.

All that being said, if you're coming from an E5500, I think you should consider at least an E5520 instead of an Inspiron...
