I have a problem with the sleep mode on the Inspiron N5110. Whenever I close the laptop and open it back up, the majority of the time the screen remains black. This has been an ongoing problem which I cannot fix. None of the keys nor buttons do anything. The power button in the top left and the screen shut off in the top right corner remain lit up but nothing happens. All I've been able to do is hard shut down and restart which I know is not good. So, if you have any solutions, do post and thanks in advance. Also, if there is already a thread addressing this problem or if I'm posting in the wrong place, redirect me.

do a clean install of windows.............(i guess it about windows power management.......and therefore it often best to do a clean install.
...changing drivers or updating windows will often not helps in this type of issues, but give it a go if you like)
