Hello guys,
I need some help here, I've been awhile using the N5110 product, everytime I play high quality games like F.E.A.R 3, Call of Duty Black Ops, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. My CPU and GPU Temperature will goes up to 87~90+, yesterday it shutdown because of overheating. Normal CPU Temp is 57-67
I've tried alot of way and searching the google about the problem, and now Im about to open the hardware to check the dust issue, so I was wondering if theres any help that may reduce the heat.
Anyway Im using this fan http://www.coolermaster.com/upload/product/6610/featured/top2.jpg?532015480
Thanks.

I would look to repaste it as well as blow out all the dust in the fan/heatsinks/heatfins. You can get Dell's service manuals by going to support.dell.com punching in your service tag and clicking manuals and go to service manuals.

Hey! for all who were wondering about a solution, I have one. I have the same laptop with the same overheating problems and my theory is, that they suck at desiging a case lol. I'm not an expert or anything but from what I can see, the main problem is that the processor is too powerful for the cooler in the laptop (especially with the Turboboost enabled) I use the same solution as KooDa. If you are using windows 7, go to Control Panel->Power options. Click on "change plan settings" next to the plan you have selected. Once you're in there, click on "change advanced power settings". Scroll down , and look for "Processor power management". Select "Maximum processor state" (plugged in or on battery is self explanatory) and turn it down to 60%, this will reduce the heating a *lot* but thanks for the processor being bada$$ it will still run games perfectly. Also check the "Minimum processor state" and if it's on 100%, turn it down to 60%. Basically this means that your system will only use 60% of your processor's power. For example if you have a 2300mhz processor , it will tune it down to about 1350 mhz which seems a lot less, but it doesn't really show when it comes to gaming. I can run everything on the same details as I could when I used the full power of the cpu. I hope i could help!
