I need a new adapter for my N5110 and can't afford a new one from Dell and haven't been able to find a genuine replacement on ebay. My current adapter which is the original is torn in places along the cord with electrical tape covering each one and now the wires are showing at the end that goes in the laptop and the part that goes in the brick. This is one of the worst adapters I've ever had that came with a laptop and from Dell.

I found this on ebay and was wondering if anyone had any opinions on it....

You can buy plenty of used genuine PA-10 and PA-3E adapters on eBay. Those should work fine; don't get this 3rd party stuff.

(At the same rate, the 3rd party stuff should also work fine, but if you're paying $15 + 6 for 3rd party you might as well get used genuine).

Ya I agree with Commander Wolf, personally I only recommend buying OEM for power related accessories (AC adapters, batteries). PA-10 is the older fat Dell 90 watt while the PA-3E is the newer Dell slim 90 watt adapter.

    Thank You!

I'm not good at keeping up with the different model numbers of these adapters so it's always nice to find people who know more about them.

I finally got around to getting the new adapter I posted about which turned out to be a new Dell original PA-3E. What I didn't even notice until the damn thing arrived was that the guy was selling it without a wall cord and the adapters I have for an old laptop and etc have 3 prong wall cords. I wrote a note to the guy and told him that he should have listed that it didn't come with a wall cord because I had never bought an adapter that didn't come with one, and that I hoped he'd take my advice to put that tidbit of info in the details section of future listings so other people wouldn't get surprised like I did. He apologized, said he'd sold other adapters like that and refunded $5 back for the trouble. I only got $4.55 back because of the way he refunded me but I'm not going to make a stink over $.45. This was the listing and looking at the pic it does look like there's an wall adapter under the actual adapter cord.

I ordered what I thought at first was a wall cord from a listing on ebay but soon realized after getting the shipping notice and looking at the listing again that I had ordered an extension cord. It wouldn't make economic sense to try and send it back so I guess I'll keep it. *BIG SIGH*

Soooo now I am back asking for more help from you all. What kind of wall cord should I be looking for? I know I need a 2 prong one but when I try looking for one for a PA-3E I can't find anything... :err:
