Now that some of us finally have our colored Inspiron, I thought we should stay in touch about one of the primary concerns. Would the paint problems, the official reason given for most of our dell-ays, result in inferior paint jobs?

I've had my Ruby Red 1721 all of 6 days now, and I already have a "scratch" somehow. I honestly have no idea how it could have happened, my notebook has not been bumped or dropped or ran over by a train...in fact it's spent most of it's time in it's bag because I've been stuck at work, But, all of a sudden I notice scratched paint on the lid.

Is it just me, or are any of you other new owners finding that the paint is NOT holding up to even gentle use?! :confused2:

The only issue I have with mine is that sometimes it looks kind of spotted. :) that quit bothering me so much when I told myself it's just the marbled look.

Overall I love my green color, and I am very happy I got it!
