You can probably upgrade your processor somewhat, it's a Socket P.

    The CPU you can upgrade.

The video card ... maybe ... On the 1420, the x3100 (and) Nvidia 8400 are soldered onto the motherboard.

If you feel comfortable swapping the motherboard, it shouldn't be too hard. The only thing that you might run into is a different heatsync for the 8400 motherboard.

Your best bet (and cheapest) is ebay. When I checked yesterday for 1420 motherboards with 8400, there were 2 or 3. You can also look up vostro 1400.

I should also note that this will void your warranty

Perhaps you'd be better off getting a barebones computer, with a processor, monitor and GPU, and just transfer over your RAM, HDD, wireless, etc. It's more of a DIY job but you'd get a custom computer out of it for less.

Then you could put what's left up for sale on eBay.
