About two months ago I returned an Inspiron 9100 to Dell after it stopped working. Dell soon called and said they were going to send me a new computer because the 9100 could not be fixed. The next day it came.

I was pleased with what they sent me. I got an XPS/M170 with 100 GB HDD, 1920 by 1280 pixel 17 in. screen, 1 GB RAM, and even multicolor fancy lights on the case. :D You could say I got everything but the kitchen sink .... and Bluetooth. :(

I did not order Bluetooth on my original 9100 and thus did not expect it to be included on the new. But I figured this could quickly be remidied by calling Dell with plastic in hand.

[I read the card's installation procedure in the manual and Dell's web site, and it seems easy as pie to install. All one does is take out one screw, plug in two antenna connectors and one four wire connector, then load the appropriate drivers, and the Bluetooth is ready to chew!]

So far, so good, except for one small problem -- one that I would never have imagined. What is that problem, you ask? Believe it or not, Dell will not sell me a Bluetooth card!

Can anyone tell me what card to order, from whom to order it, and any special installation or driver issues I haven't taken into consideration?

And for kicks, why in blue blazes won't Dell sell these things to us Bluetooth impaired and take a little profit on an aftermarket sale?

Many thanks in advance for sharing your experience and knowledge.

    Xeno

Says it takes the wireless 350 bluetooth adapter - and it looks exactly the same as the one for the e1405. You could order the one for the e1405 and give it a shot...if it doesnt work just send it back them (check their return policy).

The Truemobile 350 Bluetooth card you're looking for is sold in the BST Forum here and there are many on ebay.
