the bottom of my screen (Taskbar, etc) is very light and washed out somewhat.

is my LCD futz up, or is it because it's XGA?

    thx

Dell screens are infamous for "light leakage" as its called. And no, resolution doesnt mean crap for this, its the different screen manufacturers that have that problem.

If you post a picture of your lcd which shows the leakage, people will tell you if its bad and need a replacement

Sounds like you have the Samsung screen. If your not happy get it back to Dell before your 21 days are up. Also, do a search on this forum for more users.

This does sound like a leakage problem. I agree that you will probably find out that you have the Samsung screen.

Just give Dell a call and they will either 1) Replace you computer and you will have to wait OR 2) They will send a tech out and replace your screen.

yeah hopefully they'll just replace it, it'd be a chore to backup 80gb of data

i'm visually impaired, so the inability to clearly see the taskbar is a bit annoying
