Hello, im on my Inspiron E1705, and this is the second one I bought since the first had heating problems..but I look under it just to take a peek at how hot it is, and I see that the fan's arent running! The 2 of them are not moving, though it's not at all as hot as it gets when I play battlefield 2 but early today I played and didnt hear the fans running...

    is this normal?!?!?

and get people post programs that read harddrive/cpu/video card temperatures and also programs that make the fans run faster..

thanks for the help, I'd like to know ASAP

    i8kfangui is all you need.

the fans cut offs in the bios aren't good for gaming if you ask me....thats why this program helps.

as stated above, get i8kfangui, offset for the video card reading is +8.

Configure a temperature control policy to your liking and relax :)

Btw. My cpu fan is almost never on, because the CPU rarely gets above 50 degrees for me (when not gaming).
video card fan runs quite often because GeForce7900GS runs at high temperatures, but I still would not recommend it leaving on all the time (like some people do)
