    I getting ready to purchase a new laptop from dell and I'm pretty new to the whole laptop thing. I noticed dell has many inspiron models and I was wondering which would be best suited for a college student looking to keep the price under $1500. I am also not sure about the Intel core 2 duo or the AMD Turion 64 x2, so any information you could add about the two would also be very helpful.

    You should fill out the FAQ in the "What Should I Buy" forum. There's lots more people that could help you with your problem there if you provide some additional info.

    amd laptops are more for extreme budgets. i recomend if your spending that kind of money, you better be getting a really nice intel chip.
