    Inspiron mini 10 display problem

    when I turn on the computer my display is black but i hear the windows start sound and when I connect to a external monitor I can see a picture. The display come up sometimes but is really random...

    Does anybody have an idea of what it can be?

    Have you tried reseatting the RAM or replacing the RAM with a known good stick?

    I will try that...

    I have a normal picture when I connect an external monitor and use Fn+F1

    Hrm okay so if you pipe it out you get fine display. My next suspect would be the LCD/cable or the motherboard connector, but try the cable/LCD first.
