YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
I'm so excited right now

-
-
I like how there's 3 USB ports on a notebook of this size
-
Another link gives it completely different specs heh http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/18/dell-mini-inspiron-appears-in-the-wild-maybe/
-
OMG...WoOT! WOOOT....*drool* <<<<lmao...girl's don't do that type of thing...Wait..in this instance they do! LOL
I am EXCITED that's this Friday! Can we get a WoOT! WOOT!
Those of us here that have been anxiously awaiting ...yes it's about time!
Thanks for providing the info.
Cin
-
I'd trust the site that actually posted the docs. That does look like a neat tiny notebook...I'd be afraid of breaking the thing...its so small
-
Yes, but small, sexy, and precious to boot!
It's all in that *portability*
WoOT!
Yeah..I'm hyper now..and didn't even have a 2nd cup of coffee today!
lulz.

looks like a pda
-
The Engadget post seems to have been taken down. It must have been correct and Dell didn't want the specs out.
-
The Inspiron 1010 (guessing on the model #) 10.1" netbook coming in Oct. would be more appealing to me.
-
Why would they launch on a Friday...and WHERE'S OUR XPS UPDATE!?! *Bangs head against wall*
-
so cin, do u see a dell inspiron mini or whatever its called coming to ur doorstep. (after handing over some dough to Michael dell first of course
)
-
or maybe engadget got it wrong because they have a post now which links you to the gizmodo one
http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/18/dells-mini-inspiron-910-gets-specs-pics-and-potential-relea/ -
I know right? I gave up waiting. Watch Dell make me look like a fool.
-
Interesting, I did not see the original Engadget post. The 22nd seems to be confirmed from multiple sites. We'll see shortly.
-
Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
Max of only 1GB? Why when EEE 901 and others support 2GB?
-
If this does start at $299 the specs wont be that great for the $299 version. 4GB SSD, 512mb Ram, no camera, linux.
I am planning to buy a netbook, but I want to be able to run MS Office 2007. Will that only work on a XP netbook? -
Yeah it'll only work on XP unless you wanted to use Open Office.
-
no fool you just got a nice lappy, before it was released..Do you think you will maybe, spend the money on the Mini I????
I hope it is an actual confirmation of the 22nd..
I need to check the other sites..but at work now...and I can only *play around so much*
:
Cin
-
Yeah I'll be getting one when it comes out Friday
I wonder if they will be in any retail stores so that I can look at it and maybe even pick it up.
-
im guessing for a Decent unit with "Windows XP, 16gb SSD, 512mb RAM, Webcam, Bluetooth and wifi" it will set you back 400-450 bux...
imagine a netbook with no bluetooth, no webcam, only 4gb of space and the not so average user friendly Ubuntu...
i can afford $299, but i cannot afford $450...i wish it had at least bluetooth and webcam for 299. -
WoOT! Awesome..then, we get to do the *mini-review*
Ooh it would be great to see it...but I have a feeling that prob's won't be happening.....hmmm and *staying positive*..
This, is good news after all!
Levon...I understand
...But wait and see for what Friday brings..it could be good, yes??
Cin
-
Heh, I'm tempted into getting it but then my XPS m1530 which is supposed to be both my desktop and laptop replacement would be pretty useless. If I got the netbook, I'd probably leave my XPS m1530 behind on most days, and would kick myself for not buying a PC instead with better specs and of course, better price. It's not like I travel everyday or need to bring my laptop with me everyday, anyway. Meh.
-
That is one of the reasons I am getting it *portability, portability*..I will be able to place this in my handbag and go...if I wanted!
This will be nice for day's when I don't feel like carrying around my 1530, and such! I also think it will be a great companion to the 1530!
Cin
-
Even if it was just a core 2 solo processor, I might reconsider. But as a DTR, atom just wont cut it. Nonetheless, I'm sure it would make a great companion to one's laptop.
(Guess I'm repeating myself Cin'
).
-
Definitely! Especially since you take a lot of bike trips and such and use your XPS m1530 outdoors from what I've read. Unless you like gaming on the go or run processor/graphics intensive programs, then the netbook would be perfect for you.
You can hook your XPS m1530 up to your external monitor as it's plenty powerful enough to run most applications.
-
Why, yes you are!!!!
It's ok...your..point, well taken
Yes, very true
I'm soo looking forward to putting this in a bike bag...and riding around with it (safely - no offroad w/this baby) lulz
And for sitting outdoors, it will be just awesome.....ohhh I can't wait!
Wherever I take it, will be such a *good thing*
Yes, that is nice about the 1530 and using it with a external monitor!
Thanks!
Cin
-
wow, finally, w00t!!!!!
Hopefully one of these with a 16SSD doesn't set me back too much.
-
Hey! And, exactly!
...I am enjoying reading the info online regarding the release, potent. specs,, and *drooling* over my color choice!
Too bad, we can't timewarp Friday, eh!!
Oh, I cant wait to see *any and all * accessories for this line!
Cin
-
I hear that.
ive been checking up on this every week since I first heard about this. Friday can't come soon enough!
-
wooooo now i will have a laptop which i can take to class in school!
-
Yay! cant wait for the unveiling.
-
WoOT! So, true almost all of us having been checking up on it often
Friday = 4 days,
I keep looking at the site's with the released info
I'm so so bad! LOL
Yeps! And, I'm sure you will enjoy it very much!
hee hee - 4 days!
-
YEAZ 4 days! -
THEN what will they update next? Probably time to update the Latitude's again :confused2:
-
Yeppers..got my $$ ready to spend!
It will start over again...like a wheel..that keeps turning & turning...
You really think the Latitudes??
Cin
-
Probably!
I'll be content with this Mini though, for now. -
lol i rekon on this board, cin is most excited about the mini inspirons.
-
Me too
Oh, yes, no argument there! LOL. Probably because we have waited, what seems like a long time
And, now it's literally w/in arms reach for all of us!!
)
-
-
Wow, that power supply is about as small as my phone charger. We've got lots of pictures, but how about some confirmation on the price?
-
It is REALLY nice looking, and I'd take a Dell over these other brands any day. Seems smaller than the other ones, but maybe it's not. Could FINALLY be the mini palmtop PDA device realized-like 10 years ago you could get Windows CE devices like that with a <100MHz CPU, but now theoretically you can run real Windows on them...
-
Price? *final, confirmed* spec points?? These would be nice, and make everyone...even more happy
)
Cin
-
I've been waiting for a Dell release in the mini-notebook market since the first EEE was introduced.
Dell's support and a $200 gift card has me sold. I'm stoked! -
I want this! Too bad I'm broke.
-
You, have a good thing going there with that gift card for $200! Nice
What color?
Aww...sorry's...It's gonna be nice (I'll stop now)
Maybe someday, you will have enough $$ saved up for it!

i am thinking about getting one of these........i am wondering if this mini laptop has a mic for recording lectures ect? if so, i might have found a replacement for my old axim 51v
-
no mentions of a mic
-
i heard this has a webcam? if so, would it also have a built in mic too?
-
just because it has a webcam it is not necessary that it will come with a built in microphone...im not a %100 sure but according to the specs posted on the internet, no one mentioned a built in mic but it DOES have a mic-in port... maybe they rely on you using headphones with a mic everytime u want to have a conference.
-
WOW, thats a TINY power cord!!! Its like a cell phone cord or something.
Hmm....new mini laptop or $300 towards a new motorcycle.....that's a toughie....NAH, mini laptop it is!!!!!
Inspiron mini coming august 22!!!!
