I have searched the forum for this, but I have not found an answer to my question, so here it goes:

If I configure an Inspiron and a Studio with the exact same specs (Inspiron 1525 vs Studio 15, or Inspiron 1425 vs Studio 15, despite the extra inch), what would the difference between both notebooks be?

    Aside from pricing, of course...

    Thanks in advance.

Mostly the difference lies in what the laptop is built for. The Studio is built for multimedia and gaming to a certain extent, while the Inspiron is built for word processing, spreadsheets and official works.

The Ins 1525 is a bit cheaper than the Studio and is also very thin compared to the Studio. The Studio has a hinge design similar to the XPS, infact you get a Studio for a lot cheaper than a similarly configured XPS, apart from the bulk of course.

the 1525 has no dedicated graphics card option, while the Studio has one 256MB ATI). These are the main differences I noticed in the two lines. But I am sure there are many more I missed out.

Besides aesthetics, pretty much nothing. Except the Studio has a slot loading drive and the keyboard is a little less springy and a little more flat, sorta like the Sony VAIO's keyboard. The Studio also has an option for fingerprint reader and backlit keyboard.
