    Is there a way to change the amount of ram that is dedicated to video?

    no. you can change the "shared" memory but not the dedicated :)

    What benifits would you see if you largen the shared memory (3.5 gb working with xp 32bit)

    What GPU are you using? On something like an X3100, the amount of shared memory really isn't going to affect performance much, but on something like an 8600M GT, you might see a small improvement in fps here and there, depending on what you're doing.

    As far as I know the amount of shared RAM is a function of how much system RAM you have in the system. The more RAM you have the more RAM will be shared. Not sure whether you can alter it.

    running windows xp and its 384, I'd like to lower it. I don't use my machine for gaming.. its a chat box really.
