    Description
As of June 1, 2007, a memory leak issue has been identified that affects all MediaDirect 3.0 systems, on both Windows XP and Vista. This results in memory consumption, affecting system performance even if MediaDirect is not used. A patch has been developed that resolves this issue and others. This affects nearly 100% of Dell Inspiron systems (except Inspiron 1501).

    Fixes:
    1. Fixed memory leak issue with PCMService.exe.
    2. Fixed issues with Multimedia buttons.
    3. Fixed issue with non functional volume buttom.
    4. Fixed office synchronization in embedded mode.

Just thought this was worth bumping up for new buyers like me. I was surprised to see PCMService.exe in Task Manager gobbling up more and more memory. The patch fixed it.
