    I have an Inspiron 2200 with a cracked screen, I wish to purchase a non working unit on ebay and do a straight swap.Does it have to be a 2200 or are there any other models with the same case size.

    I would only go for the same model. Just because a screen is the same size and shape, does not mean it has all the proper connectors for your notebook.
