To whoever can help me, this is so frustrating. I just intalled a DVD+RW into my inspiron 1150. It reads CDs fine but wont burn to a DVD. Do I need to upgrade my drivers? Any other ideas? Thanks in advance...

First, try going to the manufacturer's website and downloading/installing the current drivers. If this is your first DVD+RW drive or if its different from the previous one, then it will require new drivers.

Also, make sure you DVD burning software is updated. If you don't have any dvd burning software, then I would suggest getting Nero. Unlike CDs, Microsoft doesn't include software for burning DVDs.

    Hope this helps,

You do need to use Nero or something like that. You can test this by downloading dvddecrypter and testing to see if it can burn. Can it read dvds? As far as I know there really isn't a driver for the dvd. Nero and things like that know how to make them burn. If windows could burn DVDs it would need one.
