My 21 day refund period is a few days from being over. I was curious if anyone was able to return their 1520 after this 21 day period because of the headphone jack problem. Is it a good enough reason for them to refund your money?

I suppose you won't get your money back, but they will ship you a replacement system...however it could be a refurb.
Before you do that, try to use headphones with volume control, it could solve your problem. -
But I know it's not just my system with the problem. It's the a design flaw on the 1520. What are they going to do, keep shipping me 1520's that have the same problem again and again?

If you decide to call Dell, let us know if it is a good enough reason for a refund.

I'll keep you updated, but it could be a couple of weeks before I make any decision.

Well the point was to use the headphone jack as a reason to extend the 21 days. I'm pretty sure that within the first 21 days I could say anything like the laptop reminds me of my dead dog and they'd have to take it back. I'm just curious if after the 21 days pass, if they'll take it back because of the headphone jack problem.

When I returned mine it was past the 21 day period and I complained about the headphone jack issue along with other common things, ie cpu whine or clicking HD. They took it back right away and refunded me, though that could have been because I was planning on buying again from them, just the 1530 this time
