    Hey guys,
    So I just did a fresh install of windows on my inspiron and downloaded the drivers from Dell's website. But I can't install any of the drivers.

    Heres what happens:

    When I open the driver I have two options, extract and install:

    When I extract to any directory, I get a successful message but the folder where it was supposed to extract is empty.

    When I install I get an error message and an error log is created (error log attached and text copied at the end).

    This is happening with most of the drivers I have downloaded. I've tried installing 5 drivers and only one of them installed correctly, all of the rest had the above mentioned error.

    Installation Log:

    Put the drivers on your desktop and try again. Just drag them all out there.

    If you are trying to install from external or secondary drive you get those errors in Windows 10.

    For those who find this via search engines;

    Another issue I found was that some of the files did not download correctly. Usually if files don't download correctly they don't really start, but somehow these installation drivers although only partially downloaded did 'try' to install but failed. Re-downloading fixed the problem.

    Yep, strange but true. The only indication of the incomplete download is the mismatch in the downloaded file size as compared to the one on the website. Otherwise, the file itself doesn't look corrupted.
