My notebook is Dell 6400/e1505. I buy new hardisk and use Media Direct disk to boot, then select option 2 on boot menu. After restart, install windows Xp on C parttion success. I use Media Direct disk to install MD3 on windows, when setup finish, i turn off computer. Press Media Direct button but don't run.
So, i download Media Direct repair boot disk, repair success but when i press Media Direct button (not Power button) it shows main Media Direct picture only then boot in Windows XP immediate.
I use old harddisk (original-use Vista Home), put it back and turn Media Direct on, the problem still the same, unchange.
Please help me fix problem, thank you so much.

AFAIK, MediaDirect3 doesnt have a repair disk/option (the downloadable repair disk is for Media Direct 2 and it will not work on MD3, rather it will screw up MD3 if you use it). You have to reinstall from the beginning. What happened the first time you installed it?

A. I use new HDD, remove original HDD (install Win Vista Home Basic)
1. I boot from Media Direct DVD
2. When the recovery menu appears, select option 2 to designate a size for operating system install partition.
3. When done, i replace it with the operating system reinstallation CD.
4. When i finished install Windows, i begin reinstallation Dell MD3 software
5. I insert the reinstallation DVD into the DVD drive but 'The Dell Media Direct Powered by Cyberlink' window not opens automatically. I receive an error message.
6. So, i open DVD disk use Windows Explore, open MD3 directory and run Setup.
7. When setup complete, I turn off computer.
8. Press the MD3 button on my computer but don't run.
B. I use old HDD (original-use Vista Home Basic),turn Media Direct on, the problem still the same, unchange. Why? -

How about MD3 under XP? I am having exactly the same error as anhhung81. Looks like that procedure is for Vista only. Has anyone been able to install MediaDirect 3 with XP Pro or MediaCenter? How... thanks

Nevermind, got it figured out!
All i had to do was open the MediaDirect 3 DVD and just run Dellkit.exe from Dellkit folder. That overwrites the Autorun and MediaDirect is installed and configured correctly. Good luck to everyone.
Install Media Direct on new HDD, but don't run.
