**edit it is a 1390 card. I can't type
I have an Inspiron 1520 running Vista home premium SP1 with a duel core and 2gb of RAM.
I have performed a clean installed of Vista. I formatted the C: drive and installed the AHCI driver from the USB drive. (Note I am installing from the disks because I erased the restore partition a while back. Yeah, not so smart on that one maybe)
I install all the drivers from the Dell driver disk/support site. Everything is fine I can restart and shutdown/start normally.
When I installed the driver for the Dell WLAN Minicard 1390 I can no longer restart. It just hangs. I sometimes get to the "Microsoft corporation" progress bar, sometimes I do not. But I never get past that point. It just hangs on a black screen, no blue screen errors.
If I shut it down from the hanging screen with the power button and restart I'll get my safe-mode options screen. If I choose to "Start Windows Normally" it will hang in the same behavior. If I choose "Safe boot with networking" I can get there without driver errors.
I am 98% sure it is the Dell WLAN Mini Card driver .....I have been having this issue for a few days. I've installed Vista a few times trying to figure out WTF is happening and I finally got smart enough to take manual system restore points before trying putting in drivers one at a time. I can revert back to the System Restore point immediately before this driver was installed and everything again behaves normally.
Here is the driver I am instaling:

Thank you

Unless you linked to the wrong driver, you are installing the wireless N driver. This is the driver for the 1390 Direct Download
