    Hi,

The first time i received the notebook, i directly installed Vista Business x64 edition.

After it rebooted, it prompted me with the error message :

The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot process. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation.

However, i have tried to install Vista Business x86 and it can installed properly.

I have tried to install XP x64 but the hard drive cannot be detected.

Since i have 4 GB of memory, i would like to try to install 64 bit OS.

Thanks for all your help. Regards, Hadi

Try and read the threads and make sure your AHCI drivers are installed.

You will need to install the Intel Matrix Driver separately either on disk or flash drive. Flash drive is best.

When installing, you will come to the part where it asks where you want to install the OS. Bottom left will be a thing that lets you click to install drivers.

Put your disk/flash in and direct it to the file. It will pick it up and install it once you let it.

Fom there it will recognize your hard drive.

    Hope this helps.

I installed Vista X64 Ultimate successfully on my vostro 1200(Core Dual 7250,4G Ram,160G HDD). But after I installed all the drivers, it will reboot aperiodically!
    Any suggestion please?

    Thanks!
