I installed Win 7 on my mother's old 1501, because it was running on 1GB RAM. I installed 2.5 RAM, which is responding well. But now the CPU now increased from 40c (I'm guessing the CPU was downclocked because of the low RAM?) to 50c, which is still normal. But the wireless internet is very slow, instead of 4 bars of internet that my sister gets on her macbook, it's 1-2, sometimes it doesn't even connect.

I checked the drivers and they seem to be up to date. Any ideas?

For heat, blast it with some canned air, may have possibly knocked some dust around when changing the RAM.

After upgrading the RAM the internet was slow or has it always been slow? Likely it is the old WLAN card that is dying...should be mini PCI...not alot of choices these days.
