I reinstalled the OS on my 1520, and I can't find out how to reinstall the bluetooth.
I tried to get it from dell's site, but when i tried to install the drivers, it said, "activate bluetooth using FN + F2 or Radio On/Off Switch"
When I press FN + F2, nothing happens. There doesn't even seem to be an FN function associated with my F2 key.
I am running Vista 32 bit. Can anyone please help?

Do you have a switch somewhere outside the laptop?
I have on my Vostro 1500.
Also see if it is enabled in the BIOS. -
I had dell tech support control my computer and fix it. They had to install some patch thing that is used when you downgrade from vista to xp, even though I am still using vista.
-
Any idea what that patch was? I can't seem to get my bluetooth enabled
-
Also experiencing the same problem, I did a clean vista reinstall and the built bluetooth don't work at all
-
Bump, This sucks that I got built in bluetooth and it does not work. Because I did a clean vista install

You may have turned off Bluetooth before reinstalling. I had the same problem and this worked (Dell wanted to replace the Bluetooth card). Weird problem but that should fix it. -
Can't take any credit but Cathryes post worked for me without any patches etc:

In more detail:
1. Install Bluetooth driver downloaded from dell
2. Cancel the installation at the first opportunity
3. Browse to c:\dell\drivers\r140135
4. In the win32 folder click 'inst.exe'
5. When asked to turn Bluetooth on click cancel
7. If it stops responding close the window (use top right 'X' icon)
8. Right click the Bluetooth icon on the system tray to turn the Bluetooth adapter on.
10. The driver should install normally. -
Mine took the small patch then the regular install in order to work. The small one is R159805 (search for it or click on Mattbru's post above) and then the 140135 installer. Worked like a charm after spending almost 2 hours with Dell and they had no clue what to do. They were about to have me remove and reseat the card! Funny thing was that the rep told me about the patch first thing then would never go back to it.
