I just got my new 1400, and it's nice!

However, I'd like to install XP. It's not as simple as it sounds - first I had to slipstream the SATA driver, but I still have a problem. It seems that there can only be 4 primary partitions in a system, and mine already came with all 4 filled up (1 with Vista, 1 with MediaSomething, 1 with Diagnostics, and 1 Recovery). I don't want to delete any of these, but I do want to install XP. How would I do this? I think it may have something to do with creating an extended partition, but I'm not sure.

    Thanks.

    Hey cppdev,

You have to wipe the C drive to install a new OS. You can leave Media Direct I think (altho I deleted it). If you need to delete it, follow the MD directions for reinstall. Yes, make sure you slipstream the CD with SP2. If you want to dual boot with XP and Vista, that is another story that I won't even bother with haha.

My process was kind of arduous as well as I had to switch the BIOS from ACHI to ATA, then slipstream SP2 into the XP CD, then install. Hope this helps!
