So here is the scenario, for example, I unplug my laptop and move it into the living room and then plug it back in. At this moment, once the laptop is plugged in, the igfx driver stops responding and recovers but locks up any application I had open. I have been researching this issue but haven't come across anyone with a similar issue. I just dont see the correlation with the power plug and the graphics card and why it freezes up.Any help would be appreciated.

Also, if the DXDiag would help, just let me know.

    Thanks,
    Mike.

Definitely a driver issue. Either update the driver or downgrade if an upgrade isn't available. I had prefer downloading the driver on dells' website, if that doesn't work use the driver provided by intel.

When you unplug the notebook the low power settings are enabled for the graphics, or your custom settings are enabled. They are somehow not being initialized properly when reverting from battery to mains.

Another option is that you try changing the power settings for your graphics but that might not help you that much. Installing a different driver should do the trick.
