This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Successfully installed the Intel GM965 Video drivers in SAFE MODE!
    Finally....
    After Many attempts with the various versions, much frustration and being told my 1420 hardware didn't support any driver, I used the latest driver from intel, win2k_xp14311.exe, package 39736
    Working beautifully
    Also installed the sigmatel driver in SAFE MODE

    And to heck with that modem on hi def (disabled)
    Thanks to all of you for your postings. I thought I was fighting alone...
