I've been getting this message under device manager rather frequently as of late: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
Somewhere I read to try uninstalling all the usb host drivers and restarting my laptop, then windows will re-install the drivers. tried that and it didnt help. just made windows not recognizer either of my iphones.

What drivers do I need to download?

H.A.L. 9000 Occam's Chainsaw
Download and install this from Intel. This will install your base chipset drivers and the drivers needed to get your USB ports working correctly again.

If you install that and still have problems, you may have other drivers causing conflicts or a hardware issue. -
great, thanks.
I installed that last month and it seemed to go alright. I was going to re-install it before I made this thread, but I noticed it said the following under the description:
The Intel Chipset Device Software does not install drivers for AGP or USB. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS UTILITY IF YOUR DEVICE MANUFACTURER IS RECOMMENDING IT TO CORRECT AN "AGP DRIVER," "AGP GART," OR "USB DRIVER" ISSUE; IT WILL NOT CORRECT YOUR ISSUE.
I went ahead and did a new download/install just to sure
