I have a dell e1505, and I was just wondering if there was a way to disable the Intel PROSet/Wireless that starts up with windows, or is it needed for wireless internet to function. It had an option to use windows to manage wi-fi, so I just use windows instead.

Yea you can disable the use of the software. When it opens, press F10 and it give like 10-12 secs and it'll be turned off. You then could use the Window's software.

Same option in the Intel/Proset Wireless software under the advanced tab.

Right click the icon in the taskbard and click "Use Windows to Manage Wifi".

'start' > 'run' > type "msconfig" > 'startup' tab > uncheck the entry for PROSet (I don't recall the exact process name)

if you already have windows manage the connection, then you're done.

if you mean you want wireless to be "off" when you start your computer, then Fn+F2 before you turn off or change the behavior in the BIOS
