I'm having problems with Intel PROSet/Wireless on my Latitude D620. It will no longer connect to networks automatically/keep new profiles of networks. I don't know what's wrong with it. I've updated Intel's drivers and software and it has had no effect. Windows Wireless manager isn't doing much better either. Any suggestions?

have you try used windows xp wireless config utils and uninstall intel proset save you self some ram from all process intel proset uses

I have... it's just that I'd rather figure out what is wrong with Intel PROSet/Wireless because I prefer it over Windows XP Wireless.

I'm also having issues with the wireless card in my 9400/1705.
It's Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG. If I try to use the Intel utility to manage the wireless connection it takes 3-5 min to connect to the wireless network.
Every once in a while it doesn't connect at all. This happens with the only one wireless profile the application was set. I don't have multiple profiles, just my home one.
The wireless router is a Linksys WRT54GL and the other laptop has no issues connecting to the wireless network.
I've switched to using the OS to manage the wireless connection, it seems a little better but still every once in a while it won't connect.
Didn't find a solution yet.
BTW: WinXP Pro, latest patches and latest Dell drivers. -
Is it possible you might be getting some sort of interferance from a wireless phone or someone elses router. Try changing the channel on the router. -
I believe there is something wrong with the wireless card/driver.
Once I get connected, the speed is ok, the signal quality is perfect, it's just the connection process that's bad. -
I am assuming your running Windows XP, because in Windows Vista there is no Intel Software to control profiles etc. It definitely seems like you have something screwy either with the Intel Pro Wireless Software or possibly the driver. Plus you need to make sure that Windows is not managing the Wireless. Or actually decide which you want to manage your Wireless Connections. Windows or Intel. I would probably suggest removing both the drivers and the software and downloading the latest software/drivers from Intel's website, but of course save your profiles before you do that.

I tried uninstalling the driver and intel software, and reinstalled both, and to no avail, it still wont load profiles or let automatically connect to my router. I know it's not my router because I've had several other people connect to my router with no problems whatsoever. Any suggestions on how to proceed now?

Have you tried the latest drivers directly from Intel?

Yep, that is what i'm using now. They didn't help at all.
