Once Dell released its 1525 line (removing both XP and the option for a good NVidia card) I lost interest in Inspirons and decided to check out a Vostro. Would I be able to make up a small business easily enough, or do they require some more information that cannot be embellished. What would you all recommend?

It is exactly the same as buying an Inspiron, just that you deal through the Bussiness branch rather than the home & office branch.
Bottomline: there is no difference in the buying process besides if you want to apply for a credit. -
You can make up a business name... or some people here have reported that they just typed their own name into the business name field and it worked fine.
btw if you like, you can still get a 1520 with XP and nVidia card here: http://www.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/winxp_inspnnb?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=anavml -
Alright, that sounds simple enough, thank you for the responses.
I was actually able to find a Vostro with all of my specs that was $200 cheaper than the 1520, making it an even better deal

Yup--I can confirm that just using your own name as your business name works just fine. Ordered my Mother in Law a Latitude and had no problems doing this.
