Interesting advice from XPS Chat Support (but probably wrong!)

I'm jumping through the hoops to try and get my Samsung screen replaced. I'm hoping not ALL of the Samsung screens are bad and I just want my problem resolved. I don't NEED an LG I just want my whites to be white and not grainy/gray.

Anyway, after a short discussion abou the problem and the possibility of getting a new screen, this is what I was told:

Agent (XPS_Robert_149910): "Only solution is of right now is return system and request an lg screen when purchasing again"

Me: "That is totally incorrect - that is not possible dozens of people reporting that they have tried that and they are not allowed."

Agent (XPS_Robert_149910): "we have been sent this information from the higher ups"

Me: "If you can e-mail me some documentation regarding what you are saying though, I will certainly present it to the sales folks."

Agent (XPS_Robert_149910): "I cannot send that information as it is internal information"

He could tell me but he'd have to kill me ... top secret info. Whatever.

    I'll give it a try I suppose.

You cannot request a specific brand...known fact :D.

Unless they are no longer offering the Samsung screens.

Funny...my Samsung HDD failed in less than two months of service...perhaps everything they make is poor quality.

I've had Samsung MP3 players, Samsung phones, and Samsung desktop monitors. Absolutely amazing. I didn't know they made HDDs.

Thanks, that didn't just worry me.. I'm currently relying on my Samsung drive that shipped with my machine since my 10k drive is in another machine for the time being. You sir, just caused me many sleepless nights  :p.

But yea, seems so - Samsung suck generally with computer related things.

xYike, quiet the chat.. Now you know, they just BS left, right and center to get rid of you and move on to the next person. Quality and satisfaction don't come before 'productivity and efficiency', as it seems.

Lithus, yeah they do make hard drives, I didn't know either until I got my laptop 6 months back. I was kinda, shocked. Conveniently, my Samsung drive, the chip-board on the bottom of the drive, is discoloring. If anyone can recall my thread on the topic. Still need to pursue that, but trying to lay off Dell for awhile after the famous screen Fiasco.

I've had a couple very nice Samsung products in the past, never any problems. I've always considered them one of the more reliable brands, but I am no expert in the area - just my impression.

I think my whole system is going back and I'll wait until the new LED screens or out or until the Samsung screens are totally out of the picture. *shrug*

I've got a Samsung Digi-Camera, MP3 Player, Spinpoint laptop drive and (finally) a 17" 1400x900 Laptop display. No problems with any of it. And from what I can gather from HD TV then Samsung is the current popular choice.

    Haven't seen the 15.4" 1680x1080 screen obviously .... :)

I have a 22" Samsung flat-panel that I've been using for years and love it.

I just spoke with a sales agent and the chat support rep was %100 wrong. The person who is processing my RMA for return also stated that the chat agent was incorrect.
