I have searched everywhere on the internet for a Dell Inspiron 1150 internal power supply and I get nothing. I have heard that it is built onto the mother board and you will have to replace that, and I have also heard that you can find one at Radio Shack by Geek Squad, but I haven't found anything on the site. So am I looking for something that doesn't exist? If not where can I find one.

It's on the motherboard, but how do you know it's broken? That's a really odd part to go bad.

I heard of Power Supplies a few times going bad or whatnot, its not something that happens often, but it does. Depending on what it is, you could fix it. However, I'd leave that to a professional due to the nature of that component.

IIRC the power supply on the 1150 is attached to the board. I might be mistaking it with the 2200, This would be a difficult feat to accomplish. Good luck to you.

It doesnt detect being plugged in, It wont charge or run off the battery, tried using another compatible Dell power cord with no luck, I have gotten a new battery, no luck. The pins for the power connector on the computer seem to be fine.
It is really annoying because Geek Squad cant do anything unless its on.
This situation really sucks because I have no money to get a new one and just enough to make small repairs. If anyone can suggest something I can do, that would be great.
Also Dell says they cant do anything because the warranty is over.

Seems like you caught yourself in a crappy position.

However, Geek Squad aint no GEEK if they have to have something ON!

Try taking it in to a radio shack (dunno if you have one), and try to at least find out what the exact problem is, they will probably know because they are into the electonics of things.
